Not all of us are crazy!

So you think you work with crazy people? Imagine being at 7 miles above the earth in the middle of the Atlantic ocean when your coworker becomes psychotic! Here is the break down:

The Captain and first officer showed up for their transatlantic flight. The captain thought that there was something off about the F.O., but did not say anything. Safety checks were completed, and they took off without incident. The crew ate their meals, and were well into cruise flight, then it happened. Out of no where, the F.O. started rambling, would not stay seated, much less buckle up, and became very distraught. The captain later described him as being belligerent and uncooperative. The Captain called the flight attendants up to the flight deck, and it took 7 flight attendants to restrain the FO. They bound his hands and feet so he would stop flailing about. Two doctors on board said he was having a psychotic break, and needed to sedate him, and so they did.

The Captain, now the only one flying, made an emergency landing in Shannon, Ireland. The F.O. was escorted off the airplane and was taken to a mental ward in Northern Ireland, where he spent the next 11 days. He was then evacuated back to Canada by air ambulance. He was a 20 year F.0. with almost 7,000 hours of flight time and had just recently completed his medical examination that is required every 6 months. So how did this happen?

Apparently, there have been other reports of similar, although not as bad, as this.
There are reports out that they believe that pilots who are claustrophobic can suddenly break and have their mood and personality go into a deep spiral. Fun huh? Nothing like being at 38,000 feet, with the closest land being 3 hours away, and having your coworker try to kill you!
